Alcorn State, MS—The Alcorn State family has suffered a tragic loss in the death of former
quarterback Steve “Air II” McNair.
His collegiate career was one that exemplified the heart and spirit of an Alcornite. In his
thirteen-year NFL career, he proved to be a professional and a great leader on the field as well as
a contributor to the community off of the field.
While his on-the-field exploits will always be remembered, his passion for the game and life will
never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with the McNair family at this time.
Our Steve
I know I speak for the many schoolmates you had at Alcorn, when I say.. Thank you for everything you were..a friend, an inspiration, a dreamer. You will and are being missed and I pray that your family will have peace beyond all understanding now and always. I know there is a good football game in Heaven right now.
Purple and Gold Forever,
You will be missed "FRAT".....
You will always be in my "MIND" and in my "HEART" Bruh. I continue to pray for the Family.

Thanks for the Memories
The Alcornites in the Monticello-Lawrence County area would like to say thanks, Steve. Not only for the exciting games, but for the great contribution you made to young people in this area. The invitation for youths to attend your camps and the summer festivals at your ranch will forever be remembered. Your Spirit lives on as reflected in your great legacy. We are praying that God will grant the family peace as you deal with this great loss.
Purple and Gold forever!

Thanks for all the exciting games. This is one reason that I chose Alcorn. I remember when and Tim came to Vicksburg HS your senior year at ASU. Man you was a really cool person both on and off the field. It's hard to believe God called you home. RIP McNair!! You wore the Purple and Gold of 1871 with pride!
Fellow Alcornite
My heart goes out to the family of Steve McNair. What a gifted, talented, giving man. My prayer is that God will strengthen the family and ease the grief that their hearts are feeling. Words cannot express the sorrow that is in my heart.
God only made one; and we were blessed to have you grace our campus, our football field and be apart of our family.
Steve doesn't have any gifts yet. Why not be the first to add one?
